2013 Sunrise Number TEN

Aloha kakahiaka!  Good morning!
I took my walk around Salt Pond bay this morning.  My camera jammed up during my walk!  Shootzzzz ... almost missed the actual sun rising and snapped the last photo above about two minutes before.  I am hoping it was just the battery that went.  I take plenty photos almost each and every day.  I purchase these inexpensive, wonderful digital cameras like my fave from GE...but they tend to just jam up then quit without any indication that this may be THE last photo I will get from it.
Oh well I always have a backup with my larger and trusty rusty film camera, my Pentax XK1000 that I have had for over 35 years.  Shootz..I don't know where I can purchase film,  as well as have it developed on this tiny island out in the middle of the Pacific Ocean?

HAU'OLI LA HANAU!!!

Celebrate Life!!

On this day, 63 years ago my mother gave birth to me.  Mahalo nui loa Mom for giving me life!  I just wish you were alive to celebrate with me.

This morning I was gifted with this gorgeous sunrise at one of my favorite perches on the island...a perfect spot to watch the sun greet a new day and watch the Humpback whales kiss the sky awake!

This year celebration of my life began early.  I have been receiving Birthday wishes and blessings as well as gifts for over a week and a half.  I feel so loved and appreciated. Thank you all for your beautiful wishes, cards and gifts.
Last night we had a slumber party with my two hani nieces, Naia, and Leilani.  These are the sweetest little girls in my life! They are such a joy to be with.  We are spending the day together, going to the beach and then hopefully we will all get to eat some BIRTHDAY CAKE!!

I made fresh Blueberry oat pancakes with homemade mixed berry syrup.  Yummie.....and afterward

They gifted me with some precious things, crystals that reflect rainbows when the sun comes through and a beautiful glass blown frog...and a piece of Carnelian.  Thank you girls I know just how much these items all mean to you.

I feel very blessed to have great health, and loved heart and a peace-filled spirit.  I am grateful for my purpose of life...I will continue to flow with pure aloha..living the life of giving with my heart open and welcoming.

Now it is time for beach, sun and we all hope BIRTHDAY CAKE!!

"Good things happen to those who hustle."

Anais Nin

Welll this is exactly what I am up to this morning and the rest of this day...hustling around the island for my job with Banana Patch/ALoha Spice Company.  I am so grateful for this glorious sunrise filled with promise and good creative thoughts going through my mind ♥

Seventh Sunrise!

 Seventh Sunrise!

Aloha kakahiaka!  Good morning from Kaua'i !
I love the rain.  I love the ocean. I revere the sea. I appreciate the rain..every single drop is vital for this island and her ability to assist the people who live here to thrive.   Mahalo Ke Akua!

I also  love the number SEVEN!  There are teachings of vision for SEVEN generations..to me this means to see the Earth and all her beings living, breathing and thriving for the duration of SEVEN generations. Now lets look at this in the minimalist number of years, 7.  This would mean: 7 x 7 equals 49 x 7 equals 330 times 7 = 2,310 times 7 equals 16,170 time 7 for a grand total of 113,190 years.  You can do the math differently by saying a generation life expectancy,  is on average a length of 82 years, nowadays.

Wow that would really take it to another level of being conscience about....taking good, meticulous care of our Mother, the Earth so that she may provide the great elements of clean air, fresh clean water and fertile soil so that every living being on this Earth can live and thrive.

A windy Sunday sunrise, Jan.6,2013

Aloha kakahiaka!
Good Sunday Morning!!

The winds are still blowing and gusting beyond the ability to walk without bending into the force.  I felt like the chickens I was watching scurry across the open road or beach.  The wind blowing their tail feathers over their heads..flatten, not able to stand from the force.  Every chicken I observed this morning was running with the wind pushing them from behind..they had no strength to face the wind head on...unlike I human.
Was a chilly walk this morning, but very invigorating!   Rarely get the opportunity to wear my hoodie up so thought I would shoot a shot to share.  The numbers for today were 63 degrees here and 36 degrees where my friend lives in Oregon...and curiously enough is my age  in a couple of days.
6 plus 3 equals 9 ...so this is the number of completeness.. human gestation is nine months...a complete circle is 360 degrees....
Sixty-three years living in this diving suit..but I feel like I am only 36 years young.  Someone referred to me, the other day, as an "elderly woman".  Man-o-man the hairs on the back of my neck stood up and I started to protest...I wanted to scream.."I am NOT an elderly woman!!"..and then I realized that yeah I look like one but certainly do not ACT like one.  Perhaps it is because above all things that matter in life I am LIVING the best I can..and so grateful for each and every day I have truly LIVED on this great Mother, our Earth!

I am am doing this by thinking that I am 36 years young rather than 63 years old.  I take good care of my diving suit for my spirit to thrive.  I am juicing more and getting out there sometimes taking two rather than just one walk in a day.

Do you have a routine or attitude or practice that keeps your mind and body ageless?

January 5, 2013

Aloha kakahiaka!  Good Morning!!

It is a chilly, windy, and rainy morning on the island today.  The sand on the beach was flyin'..the waves pounding.  Not a very long walk this morning but I did  manage to capture the sun peeking out just on the horizon as we welcome this new day.   My prayers were strong and continue for Chief Theresa Spence and PM Harper!

Today  I am thankful for hearing the news that there has been a meeting agreed to  with Chief Spence and Prime Minister Harper.  I understand that the Chief is still continuing her hunger strike until this meeting actually happens.  It is scheduled for next week.  Her continued hunger strike sends a powerful message letting the rest of the world know, that promises have been broken before.  Just because the meeting is on the books does not mean it will happen.

So please let the prayers for support continue for Chief Theresa Spence!  If you like read more regarding this issue go here

Aweepeno, Jane and Dennis

Strong thoughts and prayers also going out for support for my good friend Aweepeno and my sweatlodge community, the SweetHeart Lodge.  Today marks the day of the changing of waterpourers for our lodge.  Aweepeno is being initiated and my prayers will continue through the night for her as she fasts, and prays until tomorrow at sunrise.  I am so grateful for this community and our commitment to ceremony.  Thank you so much for the years of guidance and blessing Jane Ely and may your new assignment bring you many blessings and joy!

ALOHA Friday!

It's ALOHA Friday!

As my work week comes to an end, I will give thanks to having a good job.  I really enjoy my job.  It challenges me in many ways.  I wear many hats and it suits me well.  I am a Sales Representative, as well as Gallery sales and I do art enhancements and framing. Today I am usually off but because of the Holiday schedule, I am out doing my delivers to our customers before the weekend.  I am hoping for no traffic jams. I will drive attentively and be sure to share my ALOHA on the road.   As I travel my beautiful island, I will take in the awesome beauty that surrounds me and think of my ohana ..send along some of my mana with ALOHA♥

No. 3 Sunrise on Kauai

Aloha kakahiaka!
Good morning!!  There is hope on the horizons.....

This morning my prayers are strong going out in the support of, Attawapiskat First Nation Chief Theresa Spence.  She has been on a Hunger Strike for 24 days now.  Read some of the story here http://www.nativenewsnetwork.com/chief-sisk-on-prime-minister-harper.html

My thoughts and prayers also go out to  the people that are standing with her and organizing "Idol No More" movement sweeping Canada, USA and other countries.  I am thankful for the young people of today.  Many of you sound familiar in your united voices commanding justice, equality, protection of basic needs of our sacred land, precious water and air.  For over 50 years I too have protested, blocked, marched, participated in  sit-ins and teach-ins.

As  an Elder, seeing these actions and demonstrations of the people throughout the two main countries, USA and Canada, I will NOT give up on HOPE and FAITH!   With the power of prayers united, people united in purpose that there will be change and treaties will be honored and valued once again so that all people, especially Indigenous people will THRIVE!  For WE the PEOPLE, are Idol No More!!

My continued prayers are also for the Prime Minister of Canada, Mr. Harper, that he may find his courage and compassion and meet eye to eye, heart to heart with Chief Theresa Spence TODAY!  That you may realize it is in your power to NOT allow Chief Spence die for her people and our Mother the Earth!

Jan.2,2013

The sunrise this morning was shrouded by clouds.  This photo is right before sunrise and it is looking across our Sacred Salt Pond Pans to the East.

I then went to my favorite spot out on the point beyond Burns Field and the Port Allen Airport to capture a wave and a bit more color after the sun rose completely.

There are thick clouds once again on the horizon, but this is winter and our rainy season.  I am so thankful for the rain on our tiny island out in the middle of the Pacific Ocean!  Thankful for calm seas and gentle breezes.

What are  you thankful for on the second day of January?

2013 Has Arrived!

"Make each day your masterpiece."
John Wooden

Happy New Year!!  We have made it to the year 2013!!  Yay!!

In my lifetime, almost 63 years and still counting... I have lived through many "End Of The World" scenarios and come out on the side of knowing just where I am in the mix of things.  I am  and have been and remained , a passionate woman artist.

I believe in the power of manifestation: the belief we are what we think and we, or at least I, project what it is I want to attract.  Every morning I arise with new possibilities for the day ahead.  I go to the ocean before the sun rises and give my gratitude to my Creator for this new day and pray the sun up..sending my thoughts and loving intentions out to those in my life who need support and healing, and protection and direction with all the love I hold in my heart.  And then I take photographs as the sun rises.

Most days, here on the island, the rising sun offers a wonderful array of color.  Few days the sun is shrouded with VOG or clouds.  AS I have recorded and noted..much like life itself.  Most days are sunshiny days.  Days full promise. Days filled with joy and peace.  Days filled with moments light and airy...not heavy or weighted with burden.

I have made the choice to commit myself to my life!  With my morning routine I am able to  create  positive manifestation with the power of prayer and gratitude.  I am the sole director of my masterpiece of life!  As the quote states ..."make each day your masterpiece."

Last Day of 2012!!

This is the final sunrise of 2012!!  A bit chilly for the tropics.  VERY voggy from the volcanoes continued erupting and island building on the island of Hawaii..or as locals refer..Big Island.  I reflected on the wonders of all that is around me on this last day of 2012.  I am excited and relish the anticipation of 2013!!  I am reserved with reflection of wonder of the universe and manifestations of dreams.  I am thankful for my health, sound creative mind and aloha in my heart.  Remember don't wait for your ship to sail in...swim out to it!!

Resolution 2013

OMGoddess...hard to believe that it has been over one year since I last blogged!  I am in sudden time-warp reality!!  The best I can offer today is to try...I want to try and make this a daily blog.  I have been busy with my FB pages and try to post daily the sunrise.   So why not do that here in addition to stating one thing or person I am grateful for.

For 2013 I resolve to commit to my daily blog!!!

So here goes for today..the 364th day and next to the last sunrise of 2012:

I am most grateful for my renewed friendship with my eldest son, Jayme ♥

Sunrise and Rainbows...

IT has been far too long since I posted on my blog. My bad! The amazing realization I have had lately is that time rushes by with only a mere thought or two that I should have something to share and post on my blog. I question- is my life as interesting to others as it is to me? I am going to spend the next couple of weeks sorting through the events of this last year and bring in to share many of the sunrises and rainbows in my life from 2011.
