Yesterday, on this tiny little island of Kaua'i we had a Mana March for solidarity to stand together and march more than a mile united in thought and intent to be a voice of the Power in the PEople!! THOUSANDS some estimates were 4,000, came out with aloha and love for our island and all her people.
PASS BILL 2491!
Kaua'i has been being poisoned for a long. long time now by big business corporate super chemical companies gone "farmers". We are not dispensable! We are not to be ignored! This is not a paradise for long that anyone will wish to visit let alone be able to live healthy on in a very short time IF nothing is done to stop or in the least..SLOW down the mind-boggling amounts of poison in the forms of pesticides and herbicides that are being dumped upon us day and night.
The passage of BILL 2491 is essential to this island and her entire community. It will give us a right to know what they are spraying. Currently and for umpteen years this is not information available at all. Been like pulling teeth, even for the political savy like Gary Hooser.
Passing this bill will command the FIVE major companies to give us buffer zones around our neighborhoods and schools, in hopes to lessen the assaults of poison sprayed. It will also command a moratorium on any and all continued GMO development and planting of our precious agriculture land, until an EIS (Environmental Impact Statement) is conducted and presented.
But most importantly, passing Bill 2491 will broadcast a statement to these corporate Chemical company bullies that we stand strong together and are willing to FIGHT and PROTECT all that we LOVE on this little tiny island in the heart of the Pacific Ocean.
To our elected officials that hold the cards....Do the PONO thing and vote with your heart and conscious minds.
MAHALO to Fern Anuenue and Dustin Barca!
PASS BILL 2491
The future generations are counting on US!!!U\
UPDATE: 09.10.13
Council voted to defer to prepare amendments to the bill until Sept. 27, 2013 This is very hopeful as they are truly attempting to do the best they can and present solutions for unity. Mahalo!
