Ms Iselle and Julio are well on their way pass these Hawaiian Islands..

Once you've lived through an "Act of Nature" rather it be a huge Earthquake,  a Tsunami, an exploding, erupting volcano, or a Hurricane or two, I might tend to NOT get caught up in the furry of fear For the mere act of preparing calms the worry out of my mind.

After a warning I sit quiet with a prayer for guidance and appreciation and then proceed to make a list of "can NOT live with-outs" WATER and Toilet paper  are always top of list!

I tend to prepare and not do it over the top. Well,  maybe a bit over when it comes to storage of water! Like the gallon upon gallons of jars lining our daylight basement I gathered up in 1980. My family of four were preparing and living for months during the Pacific Northwest, Mt. St. Helen's was erupting and disrupting our life style and comfort and especially our safe drinking water.  All those jokes from my wasband ended up being no joke at all.

But I do NOT purchase water I can get out of my tap!  I collect glass bottles and jars to fill with water.    Like...what are ALL those people going to do with ALL the THOUSANDS of plastic water containers, and bottles of water they bought?  I witnessed PALETTES of bottle water flooding out of Costco and Cost- u- Less stores... RIGHT??? We are a tinny island!!  I do use  a few RECyCLED plastic bottles to freeze water for keeping the freezer and refrigerator cool if and when the electricity goes off.

Panic can  make us compulsive to  spend money gathering up thing upon thing that we "think" we might need

I go through my "Hurricane Boxes" to check off what I already have and make certain to pick up what I need or beef up my non-perishable food items,  Also important to check EXPIRATION dates and rotate these food items. Batteries and Construction Plastic Bags a must.

Gather up minimal clothing and toiletries in a beach bag, or back pack. To survive in the tropics I can just about do with bathing suit, pareo, two sets underwears, sweat pants, shorts, 2 tank/t-shirt, socks, tennis shoes, slippahs, and sweatshirt. Car charger for phone and camera.  Laptop and battery.  No forget towel and blanket or sleeping bag.  Tarps and small tent, cooking stove with propane. Pans and picnic basket always packed for a meal,Battery operated radio, matches and candles just about sets me up.  Cat food, kennels and water for my two kitties.

Check on immediate neighbors to see if they have their ducks lined up and then I consult with my ohana for a backup Plan B if myself and my two kitties need to evacuate from our coastal home. Most of all don't forget to breathe and give thanks for all I have been blessed with and trust that the love and aloha, will and does shine through any storm!

Beaches closed!

ALL BEACHS the entire STATE of Hawaii are CLOSED!  NO LIFEGUARDS!

I live on Kauai the island way up top of the chain. As I type this our warning of Tropical Storm is rushing over our island.  Wind gust have picked up and the edge of the first cloud bands of rain is upon our southwestern shores.  Right on time Ms. Iselle!

Hurricane Julio is fast on Ms Iselle's heels and we are hunkering down.  WE are safe and have plans to evacuate more inland if and when need be.  At least get further from the coast line.

If you click on the link below , you will see the current wind chart of two storms heading  over the Hawaiian Island chain of all the islands.  Look like a Van Goghish in present time to me... maybe he did see further than anyone could imagine?

Be safe and be smart!  Trust the local majority if you are a visitor and follow instructions and SIGNS!

Malama pono,
take good care~

You dance inside my chest...

Mahalo Ke Akua!!!

Hours before the sun rose, the ocean's music woke me, pounding and crashing upon the rocks and cliffs. High tide moved in with force.  My morning walk before sunrise I went  combing a favorite beach.  Came upon this small medicine bottle from the early 1900's..

Thankful I honored THAT feeling something special would be waiting from the sea to me!

Standing Naked and Alien in my own Country!

My name is Scharlene F Freeman, bn 1-9-50
in San Jose, CA and this is what I look like today!

Three days ago, I hit a magic year of residence in my diving suit for SIXTY-FOUR years.  Yes I turned 64! Happy Birthday to me!!

My life will NEVER be the same again.

Midnight, January 9th, 2014,  my State of Hawaii License/ID expired.  It wasn't news to me and I thought I had all my paperwork together to RENEW.  Three trips to DMV later and I still haven't been able to renew.

The law here in Hawaii changed a bit over a year ago.  To the extent of what is referred to in our NEW definitions under the Patriot Act, introduced after 9-11 to congress by President Bush.  The qualifications as defined by USA Federal government  for the "Real ID Act" in the Patriot Act.

State of Hawaii has implemented these laws. This means that I have been unable to produce ALL of the documents required for a woman, USA born, raised,  resided and employed all of her 64 years. I had my identity stolen in the mid 90's forcing me to legally change my name.  I have been through three marriages and divorces.  Changing my last name each time, rather then carry my maiden name. This is what my generation did.  I had a marriage and divorce in California, Washington and Oregon.   This all results in a very L  O  N  G  paper trail.

I have had to have people on the mainland assist me in gathering these documents and have succeeded with two of the states, Washington and Oregon. California is one HUGE SNAfoooooo.  They say it will take, in the least, 12-18 months to have my Marriage and Divorce  APPROVED certificates issued.

They offered me the option of coming to collect the documents in person.  Only unapproved copies would be released to anyone other then myself who showed up in person.  Well my DL/ID has expired and now this means that my ability to drive or fly or leave my state of residence is null and void.  I can NOT travel to California to pick up my documents.  So the person referred me to a THIRD party agency.

VitalChek is the agency.   I paid the exorbitant fees, took my then VALID DL/ID to a Notary with this agencies forms and order number and faxed it to the company.  This was all  done online.  According to my account : documents have NOT been accepted and my order has not been completed.  So I have been trying to find a phone number for customer service or some way to call and speak with a real human being on the telephone from VitaChek.

Meanwhile as I have had several crying bouts of frustration and realization of what this is all becoming to mean to me, I posted some of this story on Facebook and a friend posted  a link to this movie: America: Freedom to Fascism by Aaron Russo

W  O   W ..........

This movie  might be a large pill to swallow for many Americans living within the borders of the United States of America.  This pill might  develop slowly at first upon viewing...  but I ask you to be brave and brace yourself to choke down the truth of realization.  Wake up Americans..this is a story of TRUTH! America: Freedom to Fascism by Aaron Russo

It is happening right now!  I hope and pray that we can once and for all put an end to this type of insanity that is sweeping, not only America, but the entire WORLD!  Stand up for our rights and figure it out just how to put a STOP to this INSANITY!

UPDATE:
I am official now.  12 documents and almost three months gathering all them up I have been able to renew my Hawaii State Drivers license.
